Michael Lapiña - Compere & Soloist
Tenor Michael Lapiña, launching his professional career in 1988, has toured extensively in Australia and Asia, gracing stages in musicals and earning acclaim for coveted tenor roles in major opera houses since 2008. From the enchanting Nemorino in Donizetti's L'ELISIR D'AMORE to commanding performances as Cavaradossi in Puccini's TOSCA, Michael's versatility shines. He is not only a sought-after soloist on various stages, performing in works like Verdi's REQUIEM and Puccini's MESSA DI GLORIA, but also an ardent supporter of the community, directing fundraising concerts for Rotary International and the Archdiocese of Melbourne. Balancing his roles as a Music Tutor at Haileybury College and his Rotary commitments, Michael continues to contribute significantly, poised to take on the role of Rotary Governor for the Rotary District of 9800 in 2024.
Western Regional Concert Band
Founded in 1977. Western Region Concert Band is an ensemble consisting of brass, woodwind and percussion instruments. The band has performed with well known artists including James Morrison, Christine Anu, Leo Sayer, Silvie Paladino, Denis Walter, Gina Jeffreys, Colleen Hewett, Normie Rowe, Glenn Shorrock and Mark Vincent. Their repertoire is wide and varied from pop, show tunes, classical, jazz and concert band music. Something for everyone!
